Three Great Reasons to Travel Europe by Train

If you want to tour Europe, you should definitely consider travelling by train. Taking the train can be a very exciting experience. Not only is traveling by train a thrilling experience, but it also comes with a lot of other perks. Below are three reasons that you should consider travelling by train:

Save money

The cost of an airfare is continuing to increase. The plane ticket is the most expensive part of the trip for most people. You can save up to 50 percent on your trip if you choose to travel by train. Not only are train fares cheaper, but they are also very stable. Plane tickets are usually highest during the holidays, but train fares usually stay the same year-round. Additionally, most airlines charge extra if you have more than two bags. Most train services do not charge for extra bags.

If you do not catch your plane at the scheduled time, you will have to wait hours before you can catch the next plane. You might not even be able to catch a plane until the next day. Train hours are much more flexible than plane hours. For example, if your departure time is scheduled at 9:00 A.M. and you miss it, you can probably catch another train at 9:30 A.M. or 10:00 A.M.

Less Hassle

Most airports today have tight security. You will have to arrive at least two hours before your schedule flight so that you can go through the security checkpoints. There is a lot less hassle with travelling by train. You will only need to arrive thirty minutes before your scheduled departure time. Train security is not as tight as plane security, but you can rest assured that you will be safe during your journey.

Travelling by train offers advantages over flying and could also be considered on of the best holiday tours you could go on. Think about it as more than just transport, with amazing countryside to be seen in Europe. However, you want to make sure that you are prepared for your journey. Below are some tips for traveling by train:

Make sure that you book in advance – Travelling by train is less expensive than flying, but train fares have a tendency to increase as you approach your departure date. That is why you want to make sure that you book at least two weeks in advance.

Arrive on time – You should arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Trains have a tendency to arrive early. You do not want to have to run to catch your train.

Wait for all passengers to get off the train before you board – This protects your safety as well as the safety of the passengers that are unboarding.*

Keep your baggage tucked away underneath the seat – Keeping your baggage tuck away prevents them from blocking the walkway or other passengers.
